Keep the Faith (Bon Jovi, 1992)

Hacía más de medio año que no comentaba una canción con contenido cristiano o religioso, por lo que creo que ya iba siendo hora de compartir alguna. En esta ocasión he echado mano de uno de los grupos favoritos de mi hermano, Bon Jovi, y más concretamente del sencillo Keep the Faith (Mantén la Fe) correspondiente a su quinto álbum de estudio con el mismo nombre.

Con este disco la banda de Hard Rock dio cabida a temas espirituales y casi místicos con canciones como la que hoy comentamos o I believe (Yo creo) que puede ser objeto de comentario en otra ocasión. El ambiente de los vídeos (con velas, oscuridad, cruces...) sugieren un espacio de encuentro con el Dios cristiano a quien van dirigidos los temas, por lo que creo que a pesar de ser un género que no lo parezca, podemos afirmar que son temas-oraciones religiosas.

En concreto, Keep the Faith expone la dificultad de una vida donde los valores se han perdido, donde las relaciones humanas resultan tan difíciles y donde es difícil encontrar algo que nos ayude y estimule a seguir adelante. En esos momentos de oscuridad lo único que puede ayudarnos es la fe, una fe en el Señor que debe transformar el odio en amor y darnos fuerzas para la batalla de cada día.
